Considering a Rare Benz Need Advice

Thanks in advance. Total newbie here. I did own and drive a 96 Benz E300D for years as a travelling salesman. I like Mercedes, but don't know much about them.

Considering from a private party estate sale:

1994 E320 C (cabriolet). Reported Special Edition only 2000 built (?). Red, red trim in chrome grille and red trim in factory wheels. One owner since new, immaculately cared for. 130k miles.

I understand $10 grand cash may buy it. I'm tempted but can't find any values online.

Please help a 69 Shelby, 70 Boss 302 and 84 Carrera owner who knows nothing about this car and doesn't want to blow it. I'd like it available for my next wife. Crazy?

20 years old car has to be rare, no matter how many of them were produced.
This forum has model sections, so find the section the car fits and ask there. Cabriolet is bringing additional issues and I don't think you will find too many owners of 20 years old cabriolets.
This way, or the other Mercedes is not easy car to inspect and older one definitely needs to be well inspected. Dealers charge about $300 for PPI and I think you should spend it not thinking twice.
Good luck on the purchase.

A very desirable model, and not a bad price. Since it's the original owner there ought to be service records which should tell you a lot. 130K miles is a lot but the drivetrain is generally sturdy. There are some issues particular to the model though, which you can learn about in the excellent forum sticky for that model. Tell Zeitgeist I sent you!
