Please Read, Help Needed for Family Member Dengue Fever

So I would never ask but this is some scary stuff. My sister-in-law and niece in the Philippines have contracted Dengue Fever. If you are unfamiliar with it you have no idea how scary and dangerous it is. Dengue fever - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Long story short...my sister-in-law collapsed the other day, thought from heat exhaustion, on her way to try to get some gatorade (which she can only afford one small bottle) for her daughter who had been vomiting for several days.

After 5 days and not being able to keep anything down, having horrible stomach pain, headache and other symptoms, my 16 y/o niece developed a 104 degree fever. They HAD to take her to the hospital regardless of the fact that they had no clue how they were going to pay for services...

It was a good thing as she has dengue fever and she needed IV fluids immediately. They had to do blood, stool and urine samples and guess what...had to wait and find someone to do them because the labs and most people at the hospitals are on vacation because of Easter. Not like here, the hospitals just have you sit there and stabilize until someone is working and can see you.

I just found out from my wife that you ALSO have to pay up front...like when she had the lab work, they say its PHP2000 when are you going to get the money because she needs this work done ASAP. Then the doctor you pay separate and then you pay for a "bed" in the hospital and are in a room with 6 people like an auditorium. We should be thankful for what we have here in the U.S. as good or bad as people may think our healthcare system is...

Now come to find out my sister-in-law passed out because she had contracted it as well and is having chest pain because it is swelling her heart...the people there in the street took her to the hospital but she checked herself out of the hospital because she wants her daughter to get better and has no money for even her.

Sad thing of it all...she got it while at school as there was another case that was unreported and someone slipped and mentioned. All my niece wants to do is finish school (she is a 4.0 student) and become a teacher or nurse...

I am asking for prayers and if you would like to make any donation please let me know, my paypal is jeffjesseca888@gmail.com and any little bit can help.
