Do German cars lower mechanics' IQ?

Today I came about this theory that something about the presence of a German automobile lowers the intelligence of mechanics. With any domestic car I've owned third parties are able to diagnose problems immediately and correctly. With my 126 and now the 220 if I'm not firmly in charge of finding and fixing the problems it would never get solved. S500 threw a p0171 today and my phone wouldn't broadcast wifi so I couldn't research it immediately. The responses I got from parts stores and indies I spoke to before getting internet access were just all over the board. Moreover, not one of them identified what forum members have all said fixed this problem. These cars aren't actually that confusing. Is this everybody's experience or just me?

MB is leader of popular car technology.
The digital E class come on the market 15 years ago and you should remember what happened when Toyota followed drive-by-wire concept few years ago?
So the mechanics had only 15 years to learn new technology to date and I am talking about top mechanics, that worked on those cars since day 1.
Now compare that drivers and mechanics in USA took 30 years to learn that "Oil change 3000" is bogus idea.
How long would you give them to adjust the engine to make 50 mpg?

Cool Oh Yes....

I think in america they think all they need is a set of snap on and a big hammer.
works for traditional usa cars but not mb.

mb is like..... chinga.

I either do it myself or go to mb.

No company guards their proprietary information better than Mercedes Benz. It's pretty simple - no information - no fix. Therefore good Indies are valuable commodities.
