'93 500 SEC owner - today's problem: rear suspension!
And especially you w140 owners, whom I hope will have a little focused advice on my rear suspension repair. Yep, I'm doin' it...well ok, I'm having it done.
My technician says I need new accumulators, so I'm going along with that, first of all.
Should I also get new rear shocks? That is the question. Not certain I need them : my tech says that there's leaking/wear around the rubber bushings of the rear shocks. Can just the bushings be replaced? Or is this a case of the bushings indicating that the shocks are worn out?
Hint: besides the stiff ride and the bucket-o-bolts sounds I get when, say, crossing the train tracks, there is an occasional creaking coming from the rear.
Appreciate any help you all can provide on this!
