Hi. I took delivery of a Mars Red 2013 C250 Coupe on Saturday. I have owned either a Honda or an Acura since 1991 (22 years!). This was a big step for me, not in terms of cost or style, but as a departure in brand loyalty. I would have bought another Acura in a heartbeat, but there are no coupes in the lineup (which seems like a terrible omission by their marketing department). (I drove the Accord coupe... nice car, it just felt like too far of a step down from my Acura.)
I love my new Mercedes, but why is the fuel filler door on the wrong side? The radio controls on the steering wheel are on the opposite side too. And no overhead sunglasses holder? Seriously?! I realize the Germans just recently got around to cup holders, but is a sunglasses holder too much to ask?
Well, I discovered all those "annoyances" during the test drives, but I signed the papers anyway. I knew from the moment I first saw this car that it would soon be sitting in my garage. Never underestimate the power of want! It's not the quickest car I've owner, and it's definitely not the roomiest, but it makes a strong case for being the sexiest car to ever grace my driveway. I love the body lines... understated and aggressive at the same time. Mine has the 18" split 5-spoke AMG wheels and the black sport grill. It has been living here for four days now, and I still open the garage door a couple time each evening just to look at it. It makes me giggle (in a manly way, of course). I can't remember the last time I was this excited about getting a new car. Just imagine how I would feel about the the car if it had a place to stow my sunglasses.
