New member intro - Mokkybear

Hi all - not an M-B owner yet but have just pulled the trigger on an A250 Sport. Six month waiting time in Oz, though, so plenty of time to get used to the idea.

Haven't owned a car of this calibre before. Current car is a Pug 308 XSE 1.6THP, which is a nice car but time to move it on before the kilometres get too high. We love the open airy feel to its cabin (we have 'beige' leather and the panoramic roof) and the torquey feel of the engine, as well as the quirky French styling.

I've always kind of hankered for a Golf GTi for its balanced performance and handling, but they don't have a good reliability record and they're very common, with very conservative styling. Then the A250 caught our eyes - actually cheaper in Oz than a similarly specced GTi, so I justified it to myself as being not too extravagant!

The A250, while being of similar size, is a different beast altogether to the Peugeot. Much lower ceiling and everything black inside - but it is clearly a more sport-focussed car than the 308, particularly in the handling (power, too, but the higher priority for me if I am going to spend this kind of money is excellent handling).

My first love, though is motorcycling. Once again, I prefer light-weight to massive power - crisp and lightweight handling with a torquey engine is a delight on a twisty road.

So with the A250 alongside my BMW F800, I will have a couple of delightful machines. Talk about blessed!
