722.960 trans question

Looking for advise. 2013 C300 4matic 792 miles.

Restoring a Sandy flood c300 with 722.960 trans. Got everything up and running and went for a 3 mile test drive. All working great. Trans shifted smoothly in D and worked great manual up/down shifts. Parked car overnight and in am trans did not shift forward/rev or manual.

Took to dealership. Found trans had residual water in it and fluid was milky. They performed a trans flush and filter change and said fluid was now running clear and pump providing pressure. However, still no power to wheels. They want to replace trans.

Have asked them for diag codes so I can somewhat determine my next steps.

Need advise. At this point I would believe it to be a valve body issue. If so, then I would pull it, send it to a shop for rebuild/coding and then I'll reinstall. Its possible problem is mechanical, but with only 792 miles, 3 miles test drive and smooth performance, Im betting not mechanical, but electronic/valve body issue. Hoping dealer will supply codes to validate.

Update: just talked to the tech. No codes showing. He thought it could be a stuck solenoid/valve.
