R230 exhaust modification possible?

I recently purchased a 2011 sl550 (<6K mi). I lost my R129 and my W113 to Sandy! I would like to swap out the exhaust system for something a bit more 'throaty'. Has anyone done this? I do not want to do some aftermarket mod and lose my warranty. Thanks

I have a 2007 SL500 and wanted a true V8 sound above stock, without sounding like an American Muscle car. I Had a Cat-back exhaust installed. Replaced the stock resonators with 15 inch modern glasspacks, removed the stock mufflers and replaced with 11X9 Magnaflo part#11365 at the angles over the rear end, right in back of the stock X pipe. Stock exhaust tips remain. Cost is minimal compared to aftermarket German Mufflers. I get zero drone, quiet interior and strong throaty perfect sound when leaving a stop light, without flooring it like stock mufflers to get sound, and just about as quiet at idle. I had the same concerns as all the other SL owners that wanted better sound, but didn't want to ruin there 120k car with a cheap loud exhaust that drones. I love this setup and it fits nice and tight with a good muffler shop!
