You're a courageous man, Lee. I would not be driving it in that condition. And if I wasn't competent to diagnose it, I'd have it in to a shop for a look-see. If it is a wheel bearing, it could be ready to seize up at any time. If it's a bad strut mount, well, that also has the potential to be quite ugly. (Struts do a whole lot more than replace a shock absorber.)
Bottom line, you need to get it inspected, whether that is you doing the inspecting or someone else. I don't think you'd be posting if you were competent to inspect and diagnose it yourself (otherwise you'd have already done so, true?) so please get it seen by a competent shop. An indie is probably a better bet than the dealer, at least if you have a good one around you.
