Cool Hello from Queen city.

Hello All,

No sooner had I paid my membership fee in an attempt to make myself familiar with reactivating the convenience functions of my 2005 SL 500, after replacing the fully repaired CD changer which resulted in some head scratching at the shop ( confession..I use a very good local shop that specialises in bringing old Porsches up to concours condition ) than they called me back to confirm they had figured it and expected to see me soon.

I think they want a check.

I might add that the CD unit is an Alpine product with an MB badge.....why not Blaupunkt? Anyway it cost $225 to have the load motor replaced and $180 in labor to have the unit extracted and then refitted.

The one year premium membership fee is approximately what I would pay someone for one question on 'Just Answer '. And I'll bet that some of you guys here are moonlighting there.

Speaking of CD changers. Does anyone agree that they will go the way of cassette players? I own three Sonos units and cannot wait for this system to be an OEM.
