My 2011 GLK recently sustained about $14,000 in a rather unusual collision. 90% of the impact force was to the right front wheel. Obviously the wheel and all that goes with it was detached. The 1st class repair facility said that every single part of the front suspension was being replace. They will let the MB dealer do the final alignment and make sure all instruments are in order. The event occurred Feb 4 and I most likely won’t get the car until mid March. Naturally I am concerned. After all, it is the solid drivability which is one reason we buy these cars. What has been the experience with major damage? Obviously the sain thing would be to get the car and see how it performs - but the dealer will actually trade it before repairs are complete. We would of course have to deal with CarFax. The ONLY reason I tend to think it will be OK, is that the shop does work only for MB and BMW.

I'd have been hoping for a total, were it me. Good luck!

I would think that it might be okay once repaired, if done properly. I'm just worried about the resale part of it. Do you have any pics of the damage.. just curious how well it held up ?
