Vibration/hum at certain speed
I recently started noticing a vibration (or more of an audible hum) at around 40 km/h (30 mph) on my w202 C180.
Would say it is around 50 Hz (which could be normal road noise but here slightly increased) modulated at around 2 Hz. No vibration in steering wheel nor more than slight in gear stick (manual). Independent of gear and remains if I press the clutch.
Do you think this is a tire out of balance or broken belt? They are quite old (perhaps five years), studded winter tires. Pressures checked a few weeks ago. Recall hitting a pothole earlier today.
Could it be a flex disk? Motor mount?
Had it on the pillar lift just a few days before noticing, didnt see anything unusual.
Am I just hypocondric?
