SOLUTION-Keys Locked In Trunk of CLK320
Yep, I did the ultimate stupid thing last night by locking my keys in my trunk with the car also locked, but the top down on my 2001 CLK320. I searched this forum and other forums for a solution. Not one thread I read offered the solution that finally got me in the trunk. Not even the Service Manager or the General Manager at my dealership knew what to do other than order a new key, which would take 2-3 days to get.
The shop foreman actually came to my house with a wrench type tool. He used the tool to manually open the hard shell that opens and closes when you open and close the top. Once that was open, which took him about 5 seconds to do, you could reach into the trunk. The keys were sitting right there. He reached in and handed them to me. The whole process took about 20 seconds.
So, if any of you CLK Cabriolet owners do something as stupid as I did, there is a simple solution that doesn't involve batteries, fuses, or removing seats.
