My 2004 CLK320 has been dealership maintained since new. After 160k miles., the car is still driving like new.
Most of the local (Toronto) MB dealerships are owned by MB and they are generally very knowledgeable in MB automobiles. They use only genuine MB parts and the labor is expensive at $140 per hour. However, they always do good works and they never screwed up any of my repairs in the past 9 years.
I went to an indie 2 months ago to change my front wheel bearings. I bought the parts from MB dealership and somehow they put the seals incorrectly. I ended up with multiple malfunctions and they eventually corrected the problem the next day. Altogether I paid $500 instead of $1,000 if done in the dealership. During that day, the car was promised at 3pm and I had to wait an additional 4 hours there and left with multiple malfunctions. Also, they had to remove the bearings a few times, much like trial-and-errors.
So, I did pay less but not sure if it worth the stress and the 2 trips and the wait time.
