cost of mercedes c class battery and alternator

Hi
Can anybody tell me the price of the original battery and the alternator (with an estimate of the labor charges) at the dealer?

Most of members on this forum DIY and buy MB parts from internet suppliers, that often charge 1/2 what the dealers do.
Why would you need stealers prices?

Bcz I took my car to the dealer and they told that I would have to change the battery and alternator which is $1675. I dont know if I should invest this large amount to my 2006 C230.
Can I buy original MB parts from internet at lower prices and get it done by another mechanic? What are good websites?
Thanks kajtek

Mercedes dealers are not bound by any price list, they charge whatever they like. Call ten dealers, you'll get at least 8 different prices and it may vary by as much as 40%.

Have the car towed to a good INDIE MB shop (check the forum for a recommendation near you, scroll down and you'll see the section). They can source a warranted, Bosch rebuilt alternator for a good price that the dealer won't install, they'll just use a new one, which probably lists for about $800 (plus labor to install it).

If you actually need a battery, Pep Boys sells the Bosch brand for a good price. For my GF's CL the dealer wanted $260, it was $110 (before a rebate) at Pep Boys. I installed it in about fifteen minutes in their parking lot.

Shop around. Avoid the dealer, that's always the biggest hit.

Good luck.
