I was turned on to the joys of the W126 ownership with our 1990 300SE which is a gem with only 89,000 miles but needs the usual TLC, I am just finishing a complete rebuild of the front suspension and it will be getting new shocks come spring if we still have it. I have to find a new HVAC panel as my "EC" mode button is stuck in and I can't get it to pop back out. I will remove that panel come spring and see if I can fix this on.

But now I have a new problem, I must, MUST have a clean 560SEC at some point. I just looked at one for sale near our place and it looked cosmetically fine with one small patch of rust in front of the passenger side wheel well but the suspension was shot, the steering was shot, the brakes may have been ok but because the steering had so much slop they felt like shit. The head liner was falling in spots, the center console wood around the shifter holding the window switches was not attached. It did seem to run fine but because of the condition of the rest of the car I shudder to think what kind of shady shit was done so the motor would sound/act fine. Oh we'll, I'll search until I find a very nice example that I can love and spoil with new parts until it is perfect. My wife and I love these big coupes and we will search high and low until the right one shows up. I have cash in hand ready to go. So I'm here to learn more and watch for cars to come up for sale. Lets have some fun.
