I'm new to Mercedes, and am SO glad I found this site. My first car was a 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS that I restored with my dad when I was 17. It was bad to the bone.
Flash forward and now I'm 33, have two beautiful daughters, and along comes this car on craigslist that was calling my name.
I just bought a 1966 250se coupe, 95% original, factory 4 speed, fuel injection, and A/C. Made in Germany and shipped over back in the day.
From what I understand I'm the 4th owner, and for the last 12 years the car sat in an airplane hanger or in some form of indoor storage.
Car is straight as an arrow, no bondo, NO RUST anywhere. California car it's whole life. It's showing it's age, but only on a surface level.
Anyhow, my plan is to fully restore the car, every bolt and washer.
I need to get it running first, so priority is the drivetrain and mechanicals, then I'll focus on the cosmetics.
I hope to use a facebook album to track / document my progress, and I'm looking forward to interacting with other bolt-scrubbers and metal-polishers here on this awesome forum!
