Do you guys worry about swirl marks?
My car is white and brand new, I have been taking it to a soft touch car wash (uses synthetic brushes that supposedly don't hold dirt and they spray you down before you go in, air dry at the end).
I was hesitatnt about it but the dealer recomended them and the owner assured me they wash fleets of Mercedes for a local testing center. Plus I see cars nicer than mine there all the time.
I had the car waxed last month (the dealer paid for it and had a third party do it) and noticed swirl marks all over the car, but only in direct sunlight, and even then the white paint is so bright you really have to TRY to see them.
Is this from a bad wax job or the soft touch wash? Do they buff out? I don't know any other way to wash my car than the soft touch because its about 5 degrees here so washing by hand isn't an option and touch free washes don't get the car clean.
Should I just not worry about it? It's a white car and a 3 year lease, I'm not going to keep the car (getting an SLK or E sedan). It doesn't bother me now but I don't know if it's going to get worse. I plan to get it waxed and clay barred twice a year cuz I'm already having issues with rail dust coming back (which is why the dealer waxed the car for me). Will that be frequent enough to keep the swirl marks from getting permanent? I wash the car like twice a week at most usually.l
