Water in the oil...

I have a 01 E320, & there is water in the oil. The car has never ran hot or rough. Head gasket or intake manifold?

Those engines are pretty reliable, beside valve cover gaskets. Where did you notice the water? Your car is W210 body, although the same engine is used in W163 body.
You will find actual owners experience in those sections.

What is your sign of water in the oil? Is it the filler cap sludge or did you drain it and find the used oil to be milky? Is it low on coolant?

Huge difference between the scenarios. Head gasket failure is extremely rare on the M112 engine.
