Light Brown sludge.

Have a 99 E320 that is showing light brown sludge on the inside of oil filler cap.Car runs fine,temp is fine.Worried that its the head gasket.Any help would be appreciated.

Not a head gasket.
In cold temps the car needs longer drives to remove all moisture from the engine.
If it looks like yucky peanut butter and is on the filler cap you are most likely fine.

If the coolant level is staying the same then you are most likely fine.

My E320 had the same problem, never caused any problems except to my sense of well-being.
Always resolved with long drives, and no coolant loss.
