Lightbulb How to access free online EPC/Startek from a Mac or Linux machine

The free Startek EPC Net blocks Mac and Linux machines. I just got an idea for a Linux workaround:

Spoof the http "user agent" header, to trick Startek into thinking you're on Windows. I think the "user agent" is the only way it sees your OS.

In Chrome browser (in Linux, anyway): ctrl-shift-I to open Developer tools. Click on the gear icon on lower right. Click on "Overrides." Click on "override user agent," and choose something like "Firefox Windows 7."

In other browsers, you might need a plugin to spoof the user agent.

Should work? I haven't tried it yet, but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

It did not work for me on EPC net. It seems to only want to run with IE. Other browsers were creating issues and Java lock ups.
I do not know about Startek, but EPC did not like that trick.

While this seems useless, the thread linked below has some good information, at least for Linux users.

Whether you can massage it to Macs is another question.
