Service C price comparison...

I had my first service done on my 2005 E 320, service C. What would this cost at the dealer? Here is what I had done at a shop I was recommended to locally.

1) Oil filter kit - $16
2) 8 quarts Motul 8100 x clean synthetic -$68
3) 1 cabin filter - $35.50
4) 1 gallon WW fluid - $3
5) 1 Quart Mercedes coolant - $6
6) 1.5 DOT 4 brake fluid - 10.50

Performed all required inspections, checked all fluid levels and reset FSS. Changed brake fluid.

I listed charges for all parts, just for the heck of it.

I got charged 2.5 hours labor ($212.50) and the total with tax was $379.

I thought it was very fair. What might this service and all incidentals cost at a dealer? Just curious of the savings.

Seems like a very fair price and all the right fluids were used.

Prices sounds fair, even if you could shave few cents going online, but it is pretty common that mechanics add a cup of fluid and charge you for a gallon.
You had empty windshield washer reservoir?
Technically you could save $100 from the bill would you spend 15 minutes on the car yourself.
How much hourly you make on your day-job?

Good to hear guys!! I could save a few bucks next time around, and I will, but I had just bought the car from my mother, and never questioned the maintenance history as the vehicle was pristinely cared for. I just asked the shop to do a once over with the oil change and unless anything was very expensive, to just take care of. I'm not very mechanically inclined but I can fill my own washer fluid. LOL!! But to be honest, that's the first time I've ever been charged for WW fluid when I've had an oil change. It was always inclusive of the service anywhere I went. Shops would just top it off. Anyway, I think this shop may be a keeper. If anyone from NJ wants to know where I went, it was L. R. Foreign Car Service, in Bound Brook, NJ.
