Anyone in still have their original dealer license plate frames? (Atlanta area here.)
"Anyone still have their original dealer license plate frames? (Atlanta area here.)"
I know most people take them off their car or throw them away, but with most of the dealers moving, going out of business or changing names (With RBM being the exception) and I was curious if anyone still has theirs, and if their still using it? Mostly for those with the older Benzes. (Maybe pre-2003 or so.)
My car was brought from Atlanta Classic Cars in 1987 (When the dealer was still in Decatur on Chruch Street) and I still had the frame and the front plate on the car when I started driving it in 2008. I took them off a year later or so from where they faded. I went to the new Atlanta Classic Cars (now in Duluth) to get new ones to use.
I kept them on the car until maybe last November. They looked alright, but the new frames are all chrome and just didn't look right on the car. I "restored" the original ones. I must say they really do look much better on the car. Truth be told, just making that little change kind of made me fall in love with the car all over again.
I'll post some pictures shortly.
If you have any, feel free to share, maybe with some pictures. The older ATLANTA AREA License plate frames will say;
"Atlanta Classic Cars Decatur, GA"
"Atlanta Carriage House"
"Carriage House Imports Atlanta"
And I think the "RMB of Atlanta" and "Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead" frames have always looked the same. But, if you have an older one, go ahead and post some pictures.
This doesn't have to stop with the Atlanta people. If you have an older dealer frame, you can post too!
