It is pretty nice! Honestly though I would go for a meaner color like black, dark blue, or even silver. Throw some 18" AMG monoblocks and you are set. However , this one on Craigslist you are showing me is classy. What ever fits your taste man, at the end you are still riding with style : W126 coupes all the way The pic below is one I saw on the Internet which I wish I can make it look like that but with original MB or amg wheels of course.

My style is classy, or as I describe my '77 450SL (compared to the R129) it's a Mensch-y sports car. I've already owned a d-bag mobile ('03 Eclipse). Oncoming cars sometimes used to stop give me the right of way when I was turning left...

Anyway, I DID see an all black SEC that really is a head-turner on Hemmings:

Looks really nice. And with 134K the engine looks fantastic.
Has had a repaint.

Ad says "Obviously someone loved this one-A LOT."
Personally, if I was going to spend $17K, I would rather get it from the person who had owned it rather than a dealer that does not know the history.
I think if you are patient, you will find another this nice with lower miles for that price. Hopefully from the owner so you can get feel for how it was cared for. I also did not see any mention of records, maybe I missed it.

Hey Nate,

Yeah, I really don't have much patience for most dealers, and I'm not interested in that car. Just the look of it was really cool. I'm much more interested in that one on craigslist.

Well guys, I thank you for your advice. Just an update, I've come full circle, tried to rationalize (every which way) buying an SEC as soon as I get rid of the Accord, but it just doesn't look like it will happen (yet). I'd much rather buy a $10-15k SEC than a $3-5k one.

Anyway, I'm still SEC-obsessed but it looks like for now I'll be going more in the direction of the super reliable Merc like the 300D or turbodiesel. I'll look at all of your earlier suggestions as well. Just need something comfortable and reliable and quiet if possible for my winter driving. With the sale of the '03 Accord, my budget will prob be $4,000.
