I read on another forum that some car racers got advanced air dryers and this is what they use in their cars.
We all have our myths. Nitrogen is not used in welding and I believe main reason for use in air industry is that the airplanes spend most of their working time in subfreezing temperatures, so any moisture inside the tire would turn solid and would not melt in few minutes the airplane drops to land.
Than airplanes tires don't last for much more than few hundreds miles.
