Smile Vito 112cdi 1999 alternator failing yeeeeelp!

Hello to anyone reading my thread .

Heres the score i have a 112cdi 638 which i love! that aside i seem to have a problem with the electrics. i noticed the light kept flickering on for the battery after a little while. i would rev it and it goes out. i got my brother to change the belt but its not made a difference, he told me to get a reading from the battery at different stages. its got to a point now where after about 20 miles the light goes on and wont go off.
ok ive gone out with a meter and the readings are 13.8 when starting and thats with the lights and fan on. after ten minutes if i pull over it starts to drop to 13 and then after time lower. basically get a gradual decrease till the light comes on and the reading goes under 12 volts so i just retreat home.

what to do?? its getting close to christmas and with two young children i need to get it back on the road. i dont know wether it would be a minor thing or wether to get my brother to just change the whole alternator? any advice would be greatly recieved.

would really like to know how difficult it is to change the alternator?

thanks again for annnnnnnny help

Welcome to Benzworld, I would change the alternator but for model specific questions it is best to use the forum for your model, here is a link;
