Real life of tires and UTQG
I wonder - what suppose to be the real life of tires? According to tirerack "UTQG Treadwear Grades are based on actual road use in which the test tire is run in a vehicle convoy along with standardized Course Monitoring Tires. The vehicle repeatedly runs a prescribed 400-mile test loop in West Texas for a total of 7,200 miles" . So if Hankook Optomo 727 have UTQG of 700 they should last for 7x7,200=50400 Mi. At the same time warranty on them is 100000. How can it be?
I was buying in the past for my Cadi DTS 80,000 rated tires and they lasted arround 45,000.
If I buy hankook 727 for my S500 4matic, can I expect to get 100,000 mi?
Is it true that 4 wheel drive cars consume tires faster?
May I ask you to share your experience on real world tire life?
