It was a good year, but had the self recycling wiring. Make sure the main engine harness wiring was replaced if you are looking at a 1995.

Post 2000 E320 is tops! Stay away from the E430. The 112 motor is bullet proof. Not a sports car by any stretch of the imagination but a all around good reliable car. Stay with Mobil 1 in the engine. The car is crazy easy to work on! I see them with 200k all day at work.

Am I the only one that hates the rounded headlights? I keep hearing good things about some of the later models, but I'm just not feeling that look. I like the old flat ones. If I could get the W124/W126 look I'd be sold.

No matter how much time and effort you put into this automobile it will break often and cost a ton of money. ABC failure is a big issue, retractable top sure to have issues, TPMS failure, etc. Avoid the 2003, I unfortunately own one with 45,000 that has had every issue imaginable. Good Luck.

He.he... those myth are usually spread in W124 section.
The truth is that in last couple of generations MB cars are assembled in Germany by Turkish, Ukrainians, Polish and other "gastarbaiters".
I think the only hand assembled engines come in Maybachs, where you can find a signature of mechanic on the engine.
The truth is that machines assemble cars better than low-paid workers thinking on Friday about the weekend, not quality work.
