2013 C Class and Horrible Blind Spot - Tiny Mirrors

I'm a foreigner working in South Korea. I have new 2013 C-Class Avant Garde.

I love the car, but it has a horrible problem.

The Korean version of this car does "not" come with Blind Spot assist.

So I have to rely on the side mirrors.

The side mirrors on this car are tiny to say the least compared to my old car, and they have a horrible blind spot.

I've already nearly been in one accident because of it.

It's too the point where if I'm in heavy traffic, I'm afraid to change lanes because I have to do a shoulder check and I'm afraid I'm going to hit the guy in front of me while I glance back.

Through a translater, I spoke to the MB sales guy and he said I could get new mirrors for about $700 USD per mirror.

No way am I doing that.

The guy also suggested I get one of those tiny little mirrors you can put on your mirror, but I think those look ugy.

I've heard about 'Concave' mirrors which are curved so you can see the blind spot area.

Does anyone know where I can get one for this specific model of car?

Are they hard to install?

P.S. I've read about how to adjust your mirrors properly, but it didn't help much.

Are the side mirrors smaller than U.S. spec cars? I ask because I don't have blind spot detection either and it's fine for me - adjusted properly as you probably tried but said it didn't help.

BTW - I think you mean "convex" and not "concave" Concave mirrors will actually make you see less!

I don't know much about side mirrors but I remember seeing little clip on mirrors to the inside rearview mirror. Ugly too but at least it can't be seen from the outside! They have some that clip to the side of the main mirror and I've also seen ones that clip over the entire mirror, but that will mess up the auto dimming feature.

Unfortunately there is no win-win solution. Big mirrors not only look worse, but make noise and cut on fuel economy. I had the same issue when I switched from W210 with big mirrors to W211.
For W210 I was able to buy European curved driver mirror that leaves minimal blind spot, but in city traffic looking over the shoulder should be done no matter how good mirrors you have, especially when you have lot of scooters and bikes on the road.
You can add bulls-eye mirror on the top of the one you have, or add additional wide angle mirrors on the side of factory mirrors.
