Electronics are probably the longest lasting items on those cars. Sensors do wear out occasionally, but they cost in $100 range so would fit close to your deductible.
Extended warranty is simple insurance. If your car had lot of troubles so far, you really need it.
Close friend bought years ago Ford Taurus for $12k and purchased extended warranty.
In 4 years the car generated $14,000 repair bills (that was years ago again) so the extended warranty really payed for itself and he still drove the car reaching 10 years of age.
But from forum reviews extended warranties are milking cows for dealers, who do lot of unnecessary replacement just to take advantage of it.
So this generally boils to your life philosophy >>> do you have $2 mil umbrella policy on your house, or renters insurance? Those IMHO are way more important that car repair insurance.
