I visit this site after being shown a thread from this site, about using Pledge on auto paintwork.
The thread was of interest to me as I do just that.
I heard about this thread from a friend and felt compelled to add my own experience.
Back in 1992 I bought a 1989 Astra estate which had been a friends Company car,
my friend had cleaned it every few weeks and it had been waxed a few times in the 3 years that he used it, the inside however was grubby with coal dust, so I took it to a auto valet centre.
it was the valet guy that told me that after each wash, a fine mist of pledge on a cloth would take away water marks and protect the paintwork from the effects of weather and acids in bird poo.
I was prepared to try this as the Astra was a cheap car to buy. I kept the Astra until 1997and the car always looked great.
When I bought my new Nissan Primera, I had tried and tested Pledge and did not hesitate to use Pledge from the beginning on the Primera.
My Primera will be 16 years old next August and it is admired when ever I park it up.
The local Nissan dealer help a promotion a few months ago to launch the Nissan Leaf, I was asked to lend my car to the showroom for the week to show how durable Nissans can be. I was lent a new Leaf for the week.
Here is a link to a picture of my Primera taken this September 2012
