Considering first MB

I'm considering my first Mercedes Benz Purchase. I'm thinking about selling my Harley Davidson (Never have time to ride) and selling or trading a Monte Carlo for a convertible. I'm thinking about a 2006-2009 CLK 350 but my friends (none of which actually owned a MB) tell me that European cars cost a lot to maintain and repair and that I should consider a japaniese car.

On a side note I did look at a couple SL500's and they gave me Car Wood but the wife say's get something with a back seat.

Mercedes are wonderful cars. That being said they do best when well maintained. Parts are up there, but so are parts for most anything. It is important that you learn all about the models you are considering. There are buyers guides for most models on this forum, learn what the weak points are for each model you want to consider. Find a good local independent mechanic and talk to them about what you are looking for. Then when you are educated you can make your purchase wisely. Hope you join the MB world!

The first thing you need to know that a CLK350 is a W209 model.
