New! 92' 400SE

I have just embarked on what appears to be an arduous journey into the world of the lovely 140 chassis. An all around awesome car I was so entranced with the many novelty features soft shuts, trunk handles ad all the other vacuum operated goodies i just neglected, or refused rather, to see the big picture. haha All and all not a terrible deal- I've seen worse, I gave less than half of the appropriate blue book which made me mobile so I can work on my Porsche ( a part mongering bastard if Ive ever seen one lol. A few things with the Benz Id like some input on. Someone butchered the rear stereo harness presumably took hook some sort of gaudy aftermarket crap up, there was a walmart boss head unit- the cheapest one without even an inkling of a cd drive. Ive hashed most of it out but there was a reason (hopefully) that they disconnected it I get no audio from either door center fill and all the others seem to produce. I'm waiting for my new antenna so testing can continue. When I start her up, more prevalent when shes really cold, the idle becomes what sounds like an import with a big coffee can on it- seems to mellow out in the first couple minutes and then sounds like a benz. Tensioner possibly? Im going to search for the best way to do the pan gaskets but if anyone reads this and would like to shoot me a link it'd be greatly appreciated. The main harness hasnt been replaced when the wipers are on all the warning lights light up intermittently and also the fuel gauge drops. its always with the the wiper signal if that makes sense. The speedo and a fuel efficiency gauge work very intermittently but never actually come up to speed. in the week Ive had her Ive only seen it barely get up to 60 before falling and coming back up when I was going atleast 80. there isnt an actual speedo cable in the car is there? I assumed trans sensor but theres a few ALL DATA is pretty limited on what they discuss. Wheel bearing tie rods and ball joints head the list as well as oil pressure sender( I cant stand to watch as she piddles all over herself) Any and all help is greatly appreciated. (Sorry Im long winded building hot rods everyday doesnt really give me a chance to stretch my proverbial -literary- wings)
