Flaky A/C

One of my few issues with my 2004 C230 Sedan is with the A/C. Every so often it will just stop running for approx 30 seconds; no air movement at all. Everything comes back fine after that. It doesn't seem to matter where the thermostat is set, it happens both when it is set to the coldest and when set to 68-70 degrees or so. It most commonly happens early in a trip when it is not that warm outside. I can understand that the compressor may need/want to shut down but I wouldn't expect the airflow to stop. Since it is an intermittent problem no one can say for sure what the cause is and I am reluctant to spend serious $ just trying things. Has anyone else had this experience? Thanks.

When the airflow stops, what lights and/or indications are displayed on the climate control panel (if any)?

Check the connection at the blower and check the connector and the harness going to it. Might have an intermittent short.
