To the OP, I had your exact experience a few years ago with my w209, it was then fixed after the dealership replaced the MAF under warranty.
Then a few months ago, a few times when I stopped on the light, the car would not move forward when I stepped on the gas. It would recovered after a few seconds. The symptom went away after a few days so I just assumed it was bad gas.
