Good day everyone. I'm again looking for an advice. I have a Mercedes 2003 C320, it has about 90k miles already. Practically since I got it, it has an oil leaking. Every 1000 miles the dashboard alert sign asks me for a quarter oil and that's what I do. Sometimes I've had to stop in the middle of the highway just to put its freaking oil since my mechanic told me that it is better if I don't walk the car more than 30 miles after it says it needs a quarter oil.
But anyway, my question is, I always have bought Mobil 1 oil, but I'm changing the reference all the time, I usually take the first one I see. Sometimes I put it 5W30, sometime 10W30, etc, but I have never wondered myself, what's is the difference or which one is better to my lemon. Last time I went to Walmart I took a photo to the different Mobil1's you can find.
[B]Which one you recommend me? and why? what's difference between all of them?
My personal mechanic told me the leaking is somewhere where the engine joins to the transmission. He says he charges me about $700-$800 to fix it. I also went to the MB dealership and they charge me about $1,500 - $1,700.
Would you pay for it? I honestly don't want to spend more money on this car. I've already spent about $5000 in about a year only in repairs, I don't want to spend a 1 dollar more.
Thanks for any suggestion about the what's the best oil.
