I've had my MB for about 10 years. Retired now and would like to drive it on a regular basis but it needs some creature comforts addressed. New seats, attention to the soft top, problem with AC/Heat. I'm looking forward to learning more DIY. Love that stuff. Ordered and replaced front headlight and signal cells and frames, also some window switches and courtesy lights. Rather proud of myself since I'm a southern gal in her 60's and never touched a wrench to a car before! I've been reading lots of posts and love the sense of humor displayed there. I'll be asking lots of questions - please be gentle with me - LOL!

My 560SL and I are new members here as well, and I think you'll find much useful advice from folks with lots of experience who are very willing to share.

Unlike you, we just purchased our 560 this past July and, although it's not my first MB, this particular model is a very new experience.

One thing I can share with you is my recent experience treating the fabric top. Our car has only 26,000 miles, was well cared for and well maintained, and is in excellent shape. If you're not dealing with severe stains, torn fabric, etc., and you're only trying to clean and weather proof the top the way I was, there are two products that I can recommend.

RaggTopp is the 2-step product that I chose after some research. It has very simple instructions, was very easy to use, and I got excellent results. The other product is made by 303. Even though I didn't choose this brand to clean and treat my top, I have been a big fan of their Aerospace Protectant for several years, and their fabric top product is popular with many folks.

Hope you receive lots of help with te other issues with which you seek guidance, and I hope to see you posting here frequently.
