Necessity is mother of new forum members!
After owning a very problematic 1995 E 320 years ago I promised myself I would never buy another Mercedes. Among the many poblems were electrical faults, desintigrating wiring harness, failed heater motor, loss of audio, and a host of other items.
I recently fell in love with the sheer beauty of a black one owner, low milage, 2000 500 CL, and bought it.
This past week I took it on a 3,000Km road trip. The ABC pump was replaced just before I bought it. Today, when I stopped to take a roadside photo, the ABC system dumped a huge amount of fluid which was spraying out of the filler stick.
Another red warning light came on later in the day to say my passenger seat back rest was not locked. I haven't been able to get it to reset following the instructions in the manual.
I love the car, and I am hoping, with the help of forum members, I will be able to survive the next year or two.
This is an incredible driving car, perfect for very long drives through the Rocky Mountains.
