2000 e320 problem with backup lights and driver window

Hello Folks, I am new to this forum and read it all the time, but never needed much needed help before, so thank you for any help in advance. I recently purchased.a 2000 Mercedes E-Class with 150,000 miles.

I tried to install a backup alarm device and followed the instructions using the backup lamp hot and ground for the two wires it had. All seemed to be fine, but when I went to closed the trunk the wire was too short and caused both backup lights to go off. In addition none of my windows would work, as well as other things in the car.

I checked the fuse under the rear seat, and #3 seemed broken, so I replaced it. This helped in getting most of the items to work, except the backup lamps, and the drivers side window. I checked the fuse in the front, but I am kind of confused as to which is the "backup lamps" I checked all the smaller ones and they are fine. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thank You, Ken

I managed to get the drivers side window, mirrors, seats, etc. to work by changing the fuse #16 which is located under the hood in the back left. I also had blown fuse #3 which is under the seat near the battery, and lastly, I blew the third fuse down (no #) which actually says "backup lights" as well as many other lights. This panel is located at the far left of the dashboard and you can see it when you open the door. sadly all of this fixed many problems, but my backup lights are still not working.
