Love the w210 - Need ASR help

I have (2) 1991 300 e cars and a 1997 e420 and a 1999 e430. I love these cars and try to do most of the work myself with the help of the fine people on this forum and peach parts.

My 1997 e420 has been having ASR trouble for almost a year now intermittently. sometimes the car runs well, the ASR will send the car into limp mode during moderate to hard acceleration. I have invested too much time and money to give in to this problem. Had dealer check with star machine - answer, needs throttle actuator replaced. I have replaced this twice,$$$$$$$ MAF sensor, transmission plug, transmission conductor plate (changed pressure spring while in valve body), and shifter assembly.

I know someone can point me in the right direction to gain the knowledge of the system to find the root cause. I have tested the battery, but not changed it yet. I believe it to be fine. It may be the problem though.

I will try to post in the correct forum. Hopefully, ohlord or the guy in Texas that did the transmission service post can help.

not ready to give up
