1999 CLK 430 electrical problem? Help!

My 1999 clk doesn't start. I can turn the key, get all lights, radio, etc. It doesn't crank at all. We've checked fuses, replaced key batteries (both keys), tested battery, starter, relay, etc. I had it towed to the shop and it started every time they tried it. They kept it for a week and the car started every time! No codes came up and they have no clue what the problem is. So, I picked it up, drove it for a month and then one morning, it doesn't start. One thing to note, as the tow driver was going down the street the alarm system went off twice. They stopped, we unlocked it and as they started , it went off again. Are there lock out or electrical issues tied to the anti- theft system? This problem is really random. It may last for a week and then the car just starts. I would love some advice. I don't know what to do. Thank you!

Without fault codes it would be impossible to say, did they read the fault codes?
