E50 AMG is alive again from the Philippines
I have been a lurker of this forum for some time now. Nothing comes close to be as helpful like you guys. I recently purchased a 97 E50 AMG from a guy who left it just parked and not running with 66tkm (41t miles).
After I replaced all the fluids, I got a used tranny valve body and it ran for 2 weeks then,the tranny slipped and car didnt move even when you put it in drive. The nightmare begins...
I ended up doing:
-Got an EGS clone from Beckmann technologies
-Changed to the right valve body(0606) from Sunbelt valve bodies
-Rebuilt tranny, changed discs and found out the torque converter seized and primary pump gear had missing tooth
- changed rebuilt torque converter and primary pump gear
it has been 3 days now and so far so good.
My next problem is the ESP, I changed the brake sensor but its still lit. The workshop said it might be the control unit but after checking, Its hard and very expensive to get one since it is vin coded and my car was not released in the U.S. I dont want to have a part 2 of changing a control unit that does not need to be changed.
Any thoughts please...
