Hi i am a new member
I Live In Jersey Channel Islands UK
I own a 1983 sec 380
I bought the car 2 years ago the badge said 500 SEC AMG and was in a fair condition. It did not idle properly and had a few scuffs on the body but it was all there bar the tow eye cover and sunroof interior panel and a few rips on the top of the rear seats.
This was my first restoration the only job I did not do and I now know I should have was the clear coat.
The restoration took 7 months and when I started this was my first Mercedes.
I have over 1000 photos showing the work that was done and yes I would do it again.
The beast is now on the road, what fun, there are tiny jobs to be done like small items of trim, its all in the detail.
Any problems I had BenzWorld and sites like it would be a first stop for info to solve any issues.
These cars were built so well they make great restoration projects, they are put together well, come apart well, go back together well.
Now for some pictures before and after.
