Radio code prompt not displayed

My 2000 SL 500 has been sitting up for a while and now that I have replaced the dead battery, I do not get the radio to prompt the code display. I have the code but the unit is not allowing me to put it in. I have disconnecting the battery but still no prompt. Any ideas?

What happens when you attempt to power the radio on?

Sometimes there is a fuse at the rear of the radio unit, did you check that? Should also check power at the radio connector.

You'll need a set of radio keys to insert into the slots on either side of the radio to release it and pull it out. You can get them at your local dealer. The part number is W 000 589 88 63 00.
