Looking to get a good safe 4 door Deisel, got my eye on a clean 83 SD. What are your thoughts good or bad on this model. Thanks

As turbo I understand diesel turbo? If it is originally AZ car, you have another 50 years on the body and 150 on the engine (with average driving).
The interior and rubber will deteriorate first.
112 hp is less than I desire, but if you drive on flat roads, you might not need more.

MB tunes their engines for optimum performance, so there is not big margin for modifications. Usually if you want better performer, you sell the car and buy the one with more powerful engine.
