New Guy with new to me '98 E320 4Matic Wagon
New to Mercedes Benz (sort of as my dad has always had them) and new to the forum.
My dad just passed down to my family a very mint 54,000 mile '98 E320 4Matic Wagon. We were at the end of our Honda Odyssey lease and the timing was perfect.
Anyway, I have vowed to keep it as perfect as he has but I also (unlike him) have a limited budget to do so. I have already replaced the driver-side rear window regulator (thanks to the forum for the DIY info) but now I am getting a CEL "Engine Electronics". I am planning to buy an OBD II code reader from Harbor Freight Tools but not sure ho much it can tell me. Also, I am going to purchase a shop manual (thoughts on where to purchase?) and tackle the things I can and hit the Indy with the other stuff.
Anyone know about the code readers or what could possibly be the issue. Car has 54,000+ on it and is running great (with the CEL on) but I dont want to risk it.
Also, any other issues I should be on the lookout for?
Thanks for any advice and I look forward to many helpful thoughts from the forum.
