Post Problems with my 1991 500E

Hello guys!!!

Im new here! And i have a problem with my 91 500E....

Problem is with the ASR, or traction control, it activates sometimes and the car just dont accelerate like normally do.... Its a shame because it comes uncomfortable to drive when it turns on and ASR yellow light comes on...

This is not the only problem with my car, has another too, the other problem is that my car cant accelerate more than 5.000rpm, more than this it feels like does not have enought fuel or something.... I NEVER can bring my car to the normal max 6.200rpms... 5.000 is the maximum i can reach, more than this the car stays in 5.500 or something like he wanna go to the 6.200 but he cant and takes some time to change the gear, what can be that problem? I thought that the problem was the gearbox and i replaced the oil and the filter and put a good quality sinthetic dextron III gearbox oil and new gearbox filter, and same problem, but i discovered is the engine because if i accelerate the car in park the car just cant reach more than 5.000rpm for more than 1 second, if i accelerate it fast it accelerate it at 6.000rpm or more, but if i want to put that for more than a second i cant.

Sometimes is good and sometimes i cant reach more than 5.500rpm accelerating it in park, more than 5.000 i cant even in park, i thought was the gas filter and i replace it, and same problem...

I replaced the throttle body for a new one, completely new, and same problem....

In the past i can deactivate the ASR, now not... when i push the buttom the yellow triangle came on my dash on. Now the buttom just dont work.

This is the best Mercedes i got in my entire life! Its perfect! the power, the look, everything... and i dont wanna sell it, i wanna fix it to enjoy it at 100%

I readed that the 500 has problems with the ASR... can somebody help me?

thanks a lot!

Did you replace the wire harness to the engine and throttle body?
Anyway, go to the W124 subforum and you will get much more information and feedback.
