For your safety, work on the car only when the engine is cool to touch!!!
Drain plug method in the morning is best because overnight, gravity had helped getting most of the oil down to the sump. Oil extractors work for dealers and shops because it's less work for them. No jacking up. No removal of the damping panel. Customer brings the car in, whatever amount of oil they suck out, they refill it. But if you think any method works for you, use it. Good luck to oil extraction in winter time.
