Sure...why wouldn't they?
It keeps us buying from MB.
To their credit they continue to stock parts for cars 20+ years old and generally at a pretty good price.
Unfortunately this has created an opportunity for OE names, like Behr and Hella, to look at ways to get some of the growing aftermarket without conflicting with their committment to Mercedes or any of the other car makers.
So they create new companies that can still label their product as Behr or Hella in a questionable, almost deceptive, manner leaving the consumer with the misguided impression that they are getting OE quality from an OE name in an aftermarket item...and they aren't.
It's typically inferior quality product coming from large Orwellian factory cities in Asia with limited QC on material and workmanship.
All they are doing is selling their long established reputation for quality and reliability for money.
