Tire change, high-rpm
Yesterday, I had all my 4 tires replaced. Instead of installing same-size tires, I decided to go wider. So, from OEM tire size of 185/65R15, I went to 205/60R15 tires. There's a bit of difference between the section height now since I changed section width and height, so; OEM: 120.25 vs. NEW: 123
My question is does this tire change, not being the standard size, somehow affect any underlying gear ratio I'm not aware of thereby increasing engine's rpm when running?
When driving at 60mph, rpm is at 3K. Is there any adjustments or setting I need to make or should I have the tires replaced with the same OEM tire size?
Any suggestion is much appreciated.
